Everyday, the highly competitive smartphone market is coming out with something or the other. First, it was Apple iPhone, and then google came out with its Nexus One Google, which it called a superphone. Now South Korean electronics major LG has joined the race and has taken a step further and launched the LG GW990. It boasts of a large display and an ultra powerful processor. But will it be able to compete against the iphone and nexus one phone needs to be seen. There have been lots of complaints about the nexus one phone and even the prices have been slashed. Still now people are a bit confused whether to go for it or wait for sometime.
The LG GW990 smarthphone has a display of 4.8 inch, which is bigger than Nexus one and iPhone. It has one of the biggest displays among all existing smartphones. Indeed a smart move by LG. The LG new phone was showcased during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. A representative from LG demonstrated that LG’s smartphone can easily run 3 applications side by side without any problems.

Apple masih terlibat perbincangan yang alot dengan Microsoft untuk membuat Bing sebagai default search engine pada Apple iPhone dan mengganti Google. Majalah BusinessWeek mengutip kedua pihak telah terlibat pembicaraan yang telah berlangsung selama berminggu-minggu dan hal ini mencerminkan meningkatnya persaingan antara Apple dan Google, yang saat ini masih menjadi mesin pencari default pada iPhone.
Google chief executive Eric Schmidt mengundurkan diri tahun lalu dari dewan direksi Apple dan merapatkan barisan dengan Google yang baru-baru ini mengeluarkan smartphone sendiri yaitu Nexus One Google sebagai saingan Apple iPhone. Apel juga baru saja mengakuisisi perusahaan iklan mobile Quattro Wireless, dua bulan setelah Google mengakuisisi saingan berat Quattro Wireless yaitu admob.

Beberapa hari terakhir terus-menerus desas-desus bahwa Apple iPhone 4G baru akan diluncurkan pada bulan April atau Mei 2010 santer berkumandang di setiap penjuru ranah maya. Ini merupakan serangkaian tanggal rilis awal di tahun 2010 dan tentunya akan mempengaruhi pada sejumlah handset baru di pasaran termasuk Nexus One Google seluler yang baru-baru dirilis. Apple memiliki acara yang direncanakan pada akhir bulan ini, di mana dikabarkan bahwa mereka akan mengungkap perangkat tablet PC mereka bersama-sama dengan iPhone 4G baru mereka.
Apel tahu bahwa hardware di dalam iPhone 3G’S saat ini tidak uptodate, maka harus menyediakan update segera sebelum pengguna memutuskan untuk lompat dari kapal dan menginginkan sesuatu dengan teknologi terbaru. iPhone saat ini memiliki prosesor yang lebih lambat dan layar yang ketinggalan jaman. Namun, menurut informasi iPhone 4G baru akan tampil beda dan datang dengan prosesor dual-core, layar OLED, 5 megapixel dengan chip flash dan grafis yang lebih kuat.
